Senior Lighting Technician

VJAM is on the hunt for a lighting superstar to join our team. The role will include planning, setting up, operating, and packing down small to large lighting systems for a multitude of events. When we’re not working with our clients on their events, you can find us in the warehouse, maintaining equipment, preparing shows and furthering skills to provide our clients cutting edge solutions.

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Comprehensive skills and experience (minimum 5 years) in professional lighting services.

  • Good working knowledge of lighting equipment including:

    • Lighting network setup and distribution

    • Moving light fixtures - setting, addressing and troubleshooting

    • Intelligent lighting fixtures including LED technology and strobes etc.

    • Conventional lighting and lamp maintenance

    • System fault finding

  • Ability to operate market leading lighting consoles and associated programs. (MA lighting and Hog)

  • Ability to assemble, operate, test and adjust Lighting equipment according to project and client needs.

  • Ability to maintain Lighting equipment such as Fixtures, power distribution, dimmer, consoles (MA and Hog)

  • Experience in installing lighting equipment.

  • Experience in executing medium-to-high scale corporate projects. 

  • Experience in event management is highly desirable.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to assist and advise clients on their event

  • Self-driven individual who can work productively and lead a team.

  • Experience working with touring shows and LD’s.

  • Ability to work well under pressure. 

  • High standard of personal presentation.

  • This role may be required to assist across departments as required (AV, Audio Staging etc)

Audio Visual Technician

We’re on the lookout for an experienced and driven AV Technician to join the VJAM crew. This role forms the backbone of our event execution—bringing creative ideas to life with precision, technical excellence, and a passion for the live event experience. We're after someone who not only knows the gear inside out but also thrives in the fast-paced, ever-changing world of events. Whether you only fill a few of the areas listed below, bring related skills, or are even overqualified, we’d still love to hear from you! Rates will be adjusted to suit ability accordingly. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and loading job-specific AV equipment using our rental system and your own judgment.

  • Setting up, testing, and operating a range of AV gear—from audio systems and vision mixers to cameras and event lighting—across gala dinners, corporate gigs, and full-blown rock & roll shows.

  • Providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting to keep everything running smoothly.

  • Collaborating directly with clients to deliver high-quality technical solutions tailored to their event goals.

  • Working with our broader team to improve systems and processes for easier, more efficient setups.

  • Leading, mentoring, and training junior team members to help build the next generation of AV legends.

  • Following health and safety procedures to keep yourself and the team safe at all times.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 3 years of experience in an AV Technician or similar role.

  • A solid working knowledge of AV gear - projectors, LED walls, vision mixers, audio systems, and staging.

  • Sharp problem-solving skills and a refined order of process.

  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently liaise with clients on technical matters.

Senior Audio Technician

VJAM is on the hunt for an Audio superstar to join our team. The role will include planning, setting up, operating, and packing down small to large audio systems for a multitude of events. When we’re not working with our clients on their events, you can find us in the warehouse, maintaining equipment, preparing shows and furthering our skills to provide our clients cutting edge solutions.

 

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Comprehensive skills and experience (minimum 5 years) in professional audio services.

  • Good working knowledge of audio equipment including but not limited to:

    • Signal flow, network setup and distribution

    • Large scale Line Array audio systems

    • Large scale distributed audio systems

    • Arraycalc, Smaart and other market leading audio software

    • Audio system maintenance and basic repairs

    • System fault finding

    • Operation of Avid and Digico Audio consoles

  • Experience operating large sound systems (FOH and Monitors)

  • Experience in executing medium-to-high scale corporate projects. 

  • Experience working with touring shows and engineers/TM’s.

  • Excellent customer service tactics and communication skills to assist and advise clients on operation of Audio Visual equipment.

  • Self-driven individual who can work productively and lead a team.

  • Ability to work well under pressure. 

  • High standard of personal presentation.
